This WordPress began as a companion to the spring 2022 Virtual Alumni Course discussion on medieval books of hours and exemplars from the Salisbury House Library Collection. A way to share information from this session developed into building a site to support future research and instruction surrounding illuminated works at Grinnell College. The site will continue to expand with additions of more exemplars from the holdings of Grinnell College including illuminated material from Special Collections including the Salisbury House Library Project, and in conjunction with material from the Grinnell College Museum of Art. Full digitized scans of material will be added once completed.
